You would have to (not) have been living under a rock if you have no idea what a Hobbit is :). J. R. R. Tolkien created the creature who looks human but is smaller and very hairy. It lives in the same world that Elves exist in and can be the best of friends, or the worst of enemies, depending on what else is involved. Frodo and Bilbo Baggins are the most famous Hobbits, staring in a number of films, as well as Tolkien’s novels. The day was created by the American Tolkien Society in 1978. It’s funny how books can change one’s perspective of life and how we can learn things from them that make our own lives better.
How to celebrate – Read “The Hobbit”. Watch the trilogy of movies. Dress up like a Hobbit.
