November 5th Guy Fawkes Day

“Missed It By That Much”. Religion seemed to always be at war in England and it got really heated in the early 1600’s. The King, and Parliament, had outlawed people practicing Catholicism in England and Guy Fawkes led the efforts to end that ban by blowing up Parliament with 36 barrels of gunpowder placed underneath them, set to go off on November 5th , 1605. He was caught just as he was about to drop the torch. Needless to say, he did not fair well.

How to celebrate – Enjoy our freedom of religion. Buy a really cool Guy Fawkes mask. Visit Parliament in the UK.
