December 18th National Wreaths Across America Day

This is a really cool day and I had never heard of it. It was started back in 1992 when the Worcester Wreath Company had an excess of wreaths left over and made arrangements to have them sent to decorate the grave sites at Arlington cemetery commemorating the fallen. Others helped by transporting the wreaths and handling the placement, no one asked for any recognition. Every grave was decorated without recognition until 2005 when the nation finally took notice someone was doing something special for those who gave everything for us. Since then, the project has grown to more than 2,500 locations both in the United States and abroad. More and more people have become involved, and so can you in this worthwhile project.

How to celebrate – Put a wreath on a fallen hero’s grave for the holidays. Contact the organization at https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/ . Have a Merry Christmas for them, they died so you could celebrate.
