February 6th National Chopsticks Day

For over 5,000 years, chopsticks have been in use. If I were forced to use them I would be very skinny today. “Kuaizi”, as they are called in Chinese (meaning “quick little bamboo fellows”) are practically the only way to eat in most Asian countries. Considering the fork was not used in the UK until 1611 that means chopsticks, at one time, were the only “civilized” way to eat.

How to celebrate – Learn how to use chopsticks. Have Chinese for dinner. Visit any Asian country.
