April 15th World Art Day

Today was created back in 2011 at the General Assembly of the International Association of Art in Guadalajara, Mexico as proposed by delegates from Turkey. That’s a mouthful! Anyway, the idea is to advance the arts no matter the format or where it is created. April 15th was chosen as the day because it is the birth date of Leonardo da Vinci. Whether you like the art you are looking at or not is not as important as the fact that you appreciate the artist that made it.

How to celebrate – Go to an art gallery. Create your own artwork. Get a paint by numbers kit.
