A favorite at every party, pigs in a blanket are easy to make, tasty and fun to eat. They are also easy enough to put in a pocket and take home from the party as well. No one is exactly sure when pigs in a blanket got started. Though we think of them as a more recent treat it appears they may have started back as far as the 1600’s. Again, the idea then being that farmers could stuff dough wrapped meat in their pockets to carry out in the fields with them. (That, of course, assuming they had pockets!
How to celebrate – Fix some pigs in a blanket. Throw a party so you can have some pigs in a blanket. Take some pigs in the blanket to work today in your pocket.
