June 21st National Sea Shell Day

So if you like to walk on the beach I’m going to bet that at some point you started collecting sea shells. Maybe not for long, maybe for a lifetime, doesn’t matter… the point is, most of us have collected sea shells in one way or the other. There are conch shells, clam shells, sand dollars and even sea horse shells that are the most common to find, the one time homes to sea faring creatures who no longer need them. It is a fun way to remember the beaches you visit and show your ability to find beautiful sea shells. Today was created by the Beaches of St. Myers and Sanibel in 2016.

How to celebrate – Go looking for sea shells. Choose which type of shell is your favorite and start a collection. You can look for shark’s teeth as well!
