October 6th Come And Take It Day

Today is a day you challenge someone to come and take something you are either playfully willing to defend or maybe not so playfully willing to defend. It is believed today is connected to the Texas Revolution from Mexico. While a bit confusing, the first shots of the revolution were shot at Gonzales, Texas on October 2nd, 1835. The Alamo did not come along until 1836 ending in March some six months later. So whether you look at today as a direct challenge from someone else or as a part of the War for Texas Independence is up to you. Just “Come and take it if you can”!

How to celebrate – Look for things you can take (That doesn’t cause harm to others). Read about the Texas Revolution. Watch the movie of the same title.
