January 14th Dress Up Your Pet Day

If you find your pet hiding from you today it’s probably because they remember this day from last year. Yes, I know, they look cute and they probably like the extra attention, just not the results. Today was created by Colleen Paige, an animal expert. I’m not really sure why an animal expert would create a day like today but then, I guess they know better than I do. I know my pets love to get attention and love to spend time with me until I start to dress them up.

How to celebrate – Dress up your pet. Get your pictures quick, they won’t stand still for very long. Live and let live.

April 20th Look Alike Day

If you want to try and look like your favorite star, film, television, music, political figure… today is the day to go all out for it. We all have people we remind others of, sometimes the image is striking but more often it’s the clothing we wear and the hair-do we sport that makes us remind others of someone famous. Elvis is the most copied star ever although Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chaplin come in relatively close behind. If you aren’t successful making yourself look like an actual star, then tell people you are trying to look like a neighbor, making sure they don’t know who the neighbor is.

How to celebrate – Dress up like someone famous. Make sure who you are trying to look like does not offend someone else. (Since everything seems to offend someone these days) Just dress the way you normally dress and tell everyone you are trying to mimic yourself.

January 14th Dress Up Your Pet Day

Today was created by Colleen Paige, a pet style Expert. Note, she is not listed as a Pet Lover because I do not know a single pet that likes to get dressed up. Now before people think I am being all negative, I not. After all, how many men like getting all dressed up? They do it, but most don’t like it! And so will your pet. If it’s really cold out then maybe it’s even good for your pet, but I doubt they will think so. So hurry up, take your picture so your pet can get back to being what they really are, a pet.

How to celebrate – Dress up your pet. Make an outfit for your pet. Enter your picture in a dress up pet contest.

January 14th Dress Up Your Pet Day

Today was created by Colleen Paige. You go girl! The thing is, most of our pets would rather that you go right on by this day and act like it never was. Sure, it’s cute to dress you pet up to make them look funny or cute. The thing is, I don’t think they really like it. Oh sure, they enjoy the attention for a while and naturally they love spending time with you, but as far as getting dressed up, not so much. In fact, I bet they have a dart board set up with today’s date center that they target. So if you got up this morning and found the date ripped out of your newspaper or if you can’t find your pet where they normally would hang out, you know what day it is.

How to celebrate – Make your pet your mini me. Dress your pet and get your picture and get rid of the clothing, hats and such. Let your pet just be your pet.

January 14th National Dress Up Your Pet Day

Do not be surprised if you find your pet hiding from you today when you get up. They have pretty good memories and may remember that today is National Dress Up Your Pet Day. The day was created by Colleen Paige and surprisingly she is an animals advocate.

I say that because, I have never met an animal that likes to be dressed up! Ever! Now before you get all bent out of shape I know they can look cute. But lets face it, they were born naked! Well then, so are people. Actually, they are born more dressed than people!

Well, at least she picked a winter day where they smaller pets can be somewhat protected from the cold. Since many animals look like their owners, or visa-versa, at least you can wear matching outfits! Sometimes your pets may even look better in that matching outfit than you do!

But let’s face it, do you really think they like it!?! You notice there are no cats in these photos. That’s probably because when yo dress up a cat, you rarely have any fingers left to push the button on your camera.

Now I am all for spending time with you pets and having fun. It’s just that fun should be something shared with your pet, not solely in your eyes. Enjoy your pets, but let them enjoy you too.

How to celebrate – Spend the day with your pet. If you want to dress them up, ask them first. Make sure you get, or make, matching outfits.

January 14th National Dress Up Your Pet Day

Get ready for your pets favorite day of the year! National Dress Up Your Pet Day! If they have suffered… er, ah… enjoyed this day before though you might have to go looking for them. Pets have great memories.

Now there are two different schools of thought here. One is that your pet actually enjoys this and you need to pick out an outfit that fits their personality. However, which is more the probable, your pet is living through your eyes, this outfit may better fit your personality.

I’ll give you that they are cute. If they are cats, they are more likely to give it to you with their claws. Just look at how happy the cats above look! Study each face and see the joy in their eyes!

Dogs might be a little easier to perform your magic on. After all, a dog normally will go way out of it’s way to please you, and trust me, this will take a lot of pleasing. They won’t understand why you are doing this to them but as long as you are paying attention to them they will normally put up with it.

And if your up to a challenge you can even take on any kind of pet, though I do not suggest you dress your fish up.

How to celebrate – Warn your pet about what you are going to do. Keep a good supply of treats nearby. Lay out a row of outfits for your pet and let them choose which they want to wear.

January 14th Dress Up Your Pet Day

Well today may make you happy but I’ll bet it’s a day your pet could live without. It’s Dress Up Your Pet Day! It comes every January 14th and I’m betting that most pets have this day marked on their calendars so if you have a had time finding them, you’ll know why.

The day was create by Colleen Paige who operates Celebrity Pet Lifestyle and is an Animal Advocate. She also created National Dog Day and National Cat Day. I can sort of see getting your dog dressed up. If nothing else you’ll be spending time with your pet and a dog will love that… being a cat owner, I can see a lot of pain and suffering for both cat and owner when you try to dress them up.

Yes, they will look very cute, but just at the faces on most of these animals and tell me they are happy with what you are doing! There are times when you need to dress up your pet, when it’s cold some need the extra warmth, though they’d probably rather sit inside by a nice warm fire.

While we probably think our pet looks like a rock star, I wonder what they think? Do they even know what a rock star is? Would a cat rather play dress up being made to look like a lion? Would a dog rather be dressed up as a wolf? (My bet is they’d rather just be given a bone or some catnip.)

But because they are your best friend, they will put up with anything.

How to celebrate – Take a picture of your pet all dressed up. Remember to give your pet a treat for letting you mess with them. Let your pet dress you up!
