So today is not totally about sleeping… well part of it may be, as most creative people come up with their best ideas while sleeping. But today is actually in the dreams of hope and goals. It was created to make our world a better place by emphasizing – dream big, reach for the stars!!!! and make those dreams a reality….Ok now go back to sleep so you can dream up some wonderful ideas 🙂
How to celebrate: Don’t ever give up. Don’t let ANYONE tell you it can’t be done. Write down your dream and tape it on your mirror or bedpost and look at and believe in it every day!
Most of us spend our lives playing it safe. We don’t want to lose what we have even if it means we might end up with something better, for the fear of ending up with something worse. I am as guilty of this as anyone. So many things often seem just out of reach and just a slight bit of extra effort might put them in hand. Today is the day to go for the gold, whatever that gold might be for you. The only thing is, make sure you really want what you are reaching for, because you might actually get it!
How to celebrate – Take a chance on yourself today. Make a list of your goals. Make sure you goals are obtainable and not something beyond what anyone can reach.
Most of us make some sort of resolution on New Years Day. We seek to find some way to improve ourselves, eat less, visit others more, give up a bad habit. At the time we make the resolution we really mean to comply with what we resolve, but normally a day or two later, or maybe even an hour or two later, we give it up. Well today is 17 days into the New Year and the semi-official day to give our resolutions up and not feel bad about it! Okay, so maybe you’ll still feel bad about it but since the day says we can give them up, it’s okay. There’s always next year and new resolution to break. So pat yourself on the back, at least you tried.
How to celebrate – Find that list of resolutions and destroy it. Make up a new list that you can give up next year. If you didn’t make a resolution, make one now so you can give it up.
We all have dreams, even those who have answered their dreams just create more. Some dreams are way out of our reach, at least on a temporary basis. For example, if you dream of being a doctor you can’t just make yourself one (although there are those that do – think…Catch me if you Can…the Great Imposter). You have to take steps to get there. Get good grades in elementary school, study the human body, go to medical school, and so on. So maybe start with smaller dreams, obtainable ones before taking that giant leap. You can be whatever you want to be, just not all at once.
How to celebrate – Start your journey today. Look before you leap. Help others reach their dreams.
You are who you think you are. If you think you are a winner, you win… if you think you are a loser, you lose. So it’s time to reveal to yourself who you actually are. Like the old saying, you are what you eat you are also what you project, so project yourself in the best light that you can and you will reap the rewards. I have often been told that I do things others think they can’t do. I am no one special and I admit, the same works in reverse. They are able to do things I don’t think I could do. What that means is, we are successful being ourselves. No one else can be who you are just as you can’t be who they are. So evaluate who you are and make the best of it and don’t worry about who you aren’t. Today is owned Wellcat.com. You can’t own them, but they also don’t own you. You don’t need anyone’s permission to spend the day evaluating your life.
How to celebrate – Figure out who you are and be happy with it. Look at your goals and determine what you can achieve and don’t worry about what you can’t. Be positive.
Are you still honoring those New Year’s Resolutions you made last year? Well, it’s time to lose them! Most people haven’t made it this far so why be the exception, join the crowd. I mean, they were well intended and all but did you really mean them? Sure they sounded great when you made them, it no doubt impressed everyone around you and your family members but come on, we all know you weren’t going to keep them so get over them!
Last year, I had forgotten the New Year’s resolution by the 17th anyway! I think it may have been to take memory lessons. Things like making a resolution to lose weight and such just backfire anyway, in fact any resolution normally means to think about it all the time so you only bring the action to mind constantly.
That’s why diets normally don’t work because people tend to think about all the foods they can’t have instead of the foods they can. When that becomes a constant thought, and craving, then you are bound to break your diet. So when you make a New Year’s resolution you are actually doing the same thing, bringing the issue to the front of your thoughts rather than burying them where you don’t even think about it at all.
So just give up that resolution and move on with your life. It really doesn’t matter anyway, unless of course it’s to become a brain surgeon or something.
How to celebrate – Try to remember the resolution you made on New Years. Forget the resolution you made on New Years. Make a resolution not to make a resolution next year.
