April 7th Good Friday

I have often had a hard time understanding why Good Friday is called Good Friday. It is the day that Jesus Christ died which personally, I find very little good about. Now I know He had to die for our sins but still, it is hard for me to find anything good about any of that. However it is also called “Dark Friday” which I do understand a little better. Each religion has it’s own beliefs, none of us know which is right or which is wrong until our Good Friday comes. Then it’s a little late. Believe and let believe is the answer… be good to all and the end we all meet is far better than not being tolerant of anyone.

How to celebrate – Go to church on Easter. Learn about different religions.Believe in something while you still have the chance.

April 2nd Good Friday

It is hard for me to understand how this is “Good Friday” in the Christian world. It is the day that Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross at noon and left human form at 3 PM. The date does vary but the reason for this “Holiday” never does. Good Friday is also known as “Dark Friday”, perhaps a bit more fitting. It should be noted that if records are correct, the day Jesus was placed on the cross started out bright and dry but at 3 PM the sky darkened and became stormy.

How to celebrate – If you are Christian, spend the day in prayer. Celebrate Jesus Christ being raised from the dead on Easter Sunday. Let all celebrate their faith in freedom and choice.

April 19th Good Friday

Today is one of the most important days in Christianity, Good Friday. It is the day that Jesus was put on the cross, passing away at 3 PM. I have never actually understood what made this Good Friday, it seems like a pretty rotten one to me. However I guess what followed was pretty darn special. We could not have had Easter Sunday without Good Friday. It is also known as “Dark Friday”, maybe a little more fitting. The day turned dark at 3PM also. The day varies with the year sometimes coming early, sometimes later. It really doesn’t matter when it comes, it’s still a day to remember. That someone would suffer all so that we could have everything is amazing. Jesus did that for us ALL!

How to celebrate – Go to church. Read the Bible. Believe.

March 30th Good Friday

Today is Good Friday, the day Christ died on the Cross. I have always had a little issue with it being called Good Friday, it seems like it should be Bad Friday. But since it is the beginning of Christianity, for us Christians I guess it is good, in a way. The dates vary since it is the Friday before Easter and Easter varies.

This is a very Holy Day for Christians as Christ died on the cross for our sins. The idea of dying on the cross was a Roman torture, meant to dissuade others from committing the same crime. Pontius Pilate did not think Jesus guilty of any crime but sent him to the cross to appease the crowd and the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem and history remembers the rest.

Jesus died after 6 hours, it took most 36 or more hours to pass. It is said the sky turned dark and the earth shook when he succumbed. For years it was known as Dark Friday, in some places it is still observed as such. He died at 3 PM on Good Friday.

On Easter Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven. There He would judge between the quick and the dead and buy for we Christians our chance at Heaven.

How to celebrate – Remember Jesus on Good Friday. Study the events that led up to Good Friday. Respect others religious choices.
