April 23rd Lover’s Day

In case you missed Valentines Day back in February here is another chance for you, it’s called Lover’s Day. I am not sure what the difference is other than the date and I am assuming Lover’s Day s not based on some Roman god of an era long gone by. So maybe it’s the more modern version of the same thing. And I guess it doesn’t require being married or engaged, just so long as you love one another… probably as it should be. It also doesn’t seem to carry the candy, flowers or other gifts so maybe it’s the poor man’s version as well.

How to celebrate – Spend sometime with your lover. Go for a walk with your lover. Start new traditions with the one you love.

August 22nd Be An Angel Day

The idea of being an Angel has appealed to most people at one time or another. To be able to watch over those who you leave behind and still be able to help them in some way. To watch over those in need, those who are suffering, to me Michael Landon. Well, you can’t be an actual an Angel. In fact, according to what a minster told me, humans can not be… ever, ever… an Angel. Beyond that, I was told Angels are a step below man. (I find that really, really hard to believe) But I am not educated in what it takes to become and Angel so I will pass on the information and you can choose to believe it or not.

How to celebrate – Try and help people where you can. Try to be nice and caring. Reach for the stars!

June 12th Red Rose Day

Want to tell someone you love them? Probably the best way, without actually saying it, is by sending them red roses. Beyond that, they look beautiful in gardens or bushes lined up against a house and smell wonderful as well. There are numerous colors for numerous sentiments, and even different arrangements using fully flowered roses or rose buds meaning different things as well. There are poems about roses, songs about roses and even pictures of roses but nothing beats the real thing.

How to celebrate – Plant a rose bush. Send someone you love roses. Learn about all the different colors of roses and what they mean.

February 14th Valentine’s Day

Today we celebrate the Feast of Lupercalia, the Roman God of Fertility, aka Valentine’s Day. Now if you didn’t know today was Valentine’s Day you need to crawl out from under that rock you live in and wake up! (Particularly if you are involved with someone) I believe forgetting to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the one you love is actually considered a criminal offense. Seriously though, show them you love them and thank them for putting up with you because it’s not an easy job.

How to celebrate – Spend the day with the one you love. Buy some candy and flowers, or jewelry or anything you think of that will impress your love. Wear red today.

January 6th Cuddling Day

It’s probably cold where you are so why not cuddle up with a friend, lover or even a favorite pet! It will keep both of you warm. It is true that females generally like cuddling more than males, not really sure why except maybe females normally get cold faster than males. Or maybe that doesn’t have anything to do with it. Anyway, if you like to cuddle, or like to please the one you cuddle, today is the day to do it. Today is all about giving and feeling the warmth of another and expressing your love for them without expecting anything more.

How to celebrate – Find someone, or something, to cuddle. Set aside time to spend with a loved one. Start a fire if you have a fireplace.

August 25th Kiss And Make Up Day

First, this day implies you are having some sort of a fight with your loved one and that by kissing you will make up for whatever was wrong. It would be nice if that actually happened, but it it doesn’t. Now before you think I’m getting all negative I just propose you don’t get angry in the first place! Okay, so I know that’s not being real. But maybe instead of disagreeing with your mate you could just kiss and pretend whatever made to mad never happened! So let’s work towards just a kiss day and leave it at that. Today was created by author Jacqueline V. Milgate on her birthday.

How to celebrate – Just don’t get mad! Kiss for the right reasons. Be happy.

July 6th International Kissing Day

Not to be confused with National Kissing Day in June, we celebrate International Kissing Day today. I’m not sure why we need separate days but apparently we do. Anyway, kiss today and enjoy it because you have another entire year to wait until you do it again.

How to celebrate – Try and set a new kissing record (just a note, it will require a number of days). Buy some Hershey Kisses and stay safe.

June 12th Red Rose Day

Red Roses say love. Remember that old song, “I’ve got some red roses for a blue lady”? Well, roses are designed to make someone happy, they are beautiful to look at and smell pretty too (although an increasing number of people seem to be allergic to them). But like anything concerning love, it does have its thorns as well. Also, make sure when sending roses to someone that you send the right color… red ones might get you into trouble! Roses mean even more when they come from bushes you have planted and cared for yourself!

How to celebrate – Plant some roses… if you intend to use them today you had better have done this several months ago! Study the different colors of roses to get your sentiments across the right way. Buy some fake roses with a rose scented candle.

February 20th Love Your Pet Day

Why have a pet if you aren’t going to love them? They pretty much love you whether you are nice to them or not. I do love animals, and I have lot of them – cats and dogs (all rescues). Not so thrilled about snakes as pets but I do understand a lot of people love their snakes. You should show your pet love everyday, but maybe love them a little extra today. More treats, more hugs and though they probably don’t understand what you are saying, they do love it when you talk to them.

How to celebrate – Love your pets. List as many pet types as you can without looking. Adopt a pet if you get a chance.

February 13th Madly In Love With Me Day

February 13th Madly In Love With Me Day

Well, it’s a good thing that we celebrate this day a day before Valentine’s Day because we wouldn’t want people to think that someone was madly in love with us on Valentine’s Day! Exactly what is madly in love anyway? Does it mean that the person that loves us should be put away? In my case, maybe so, but not in most cases. So, if you love someone more than you can say on Valentine’s Day, say it today on Madly In Love With Me Day!

How to celebrate – Beat the crowds on Valentine’s Day and get a day jump. How are you supposed to know if someone is madly in love with me in they don’t say so? “If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one with.”
