So, have you been nice all year or have you been naughty? Sometimes being naughty is nice but being nice is never being naughty! Well, it’s time for Santa to break out his list and make good for those who have been nice and give that lump of coal for those who have been naughty. I bet there was a time in history when getting a lump of coal was actually welcomed! Anyway, that’s not the point. The point is about being good over bad as being good is always subject to ones point of view. Since it is somewhat up to the opinion of the receiver at least try to be good to your family and friends, they are the ones who get you gifts anyway… and try to be nice to your enemies too… maybe they have a reason for being bad.

How to celebrate – Who would you put on a nice list…naughty list. The question is not whether you think you’ve been good or not, it’s how others see you. Make a list of what you consider naughty, and nice.

There are some 20 species of penguins in the world but unless you spend a lot of time in a zoo you probably won’t see them. The cannot fly and generally live in the colder regions of the earth.

It is believed that their black and white coloring is a sort of camouflage from predators under the water. The fastest are the Gentoo, able to reach 22 miles per hour under the water.

Who hasn’t seen Buddy the Elf (Will Ferrell) in “Elf”? Good, or bad, the character has launched itself into our society and in some way, gives us something to strive for. The movie came out in 2003 and is becoming a classic as we head into Christmas 2017.

It’s a busy time of year at the North Pole. Santa is gathering his list finding out who has been naughty and who has been nice. Which list are you on? It seems like a lot of people are making the list this year, maybe a few more naughty than nice.

Of course there are still things that you can do to get your name moved from the naughty list to the nice list. It all starts with your wanting to be moved! Treating people nicer, doing more for others, doing what you say you will do all will get you moved up on the list while apparently being a politician, an entertainer or a newscaster may move you to the naughty list.

Now I am not sure who determines what is nice and what is naughty. Some think being naughty is nice while others think that what they are doing is nice. I guess it gets back to that old saying, “In the eye of the beholder”. If you are a child you know Santa is watching but if you are an adult…

So that leads to what you think is naughty and what you think is nice., the lines can become blurred at times. And can you imagine the size of that list! If everyone is on the list it would take most of us a lifetime just to read the list. I’d better get busy, there are over a billion Chinese people alone!

How to celebrate – Make sure you are on the nice list, at least with your loved ones. Create your own list and send it to Santa with your approved and not approved on it. If you dress up as Santa and pretend to be him, are you naughty or nice?
