There are people that love snakes, none that I know, but they are out there. I think the worst fear of snakes involves the idea that you don’t ever know what to expect from them. They do serve a useful purpose though by keeping the insect and rodent population down. They have been associated with evil ever since the Garden of Eden. One wonders if our thoughts about them would be different if it had been a donkey that tempted Eve. We will never know. There are some 3,400 types of snakes across the world.

How to celebrate – Learn what snakes thrive in your area. Avoid snakes where you can. Learn which snakes are dangerous where you live and which ones aren’t.

There are 3400 species of snakes in the world. Just like with people, there are good snakes and bad snakes. Most of us don’t like snakes much, me included, but they are here, and we have to deal with them. A python can grow up to 30 feet long, an anaconda can weigh up to 550 pounds. Neither is actually a bad snake; they don’t hunt people… but if one gets in their way… well. We as people have always put the snake down ever since the Garden of Eden. If you give a snake a wide path they will generally leave you alone. Imagine what you look like to them, now that’s scary!

How to celebrate – If you see a snake, avoid it. List as many snakes as you can and see how close you get to the 3,400 species. Watch out when you eat an apple.

Oh ya, and… they aren’t exactly cute and cuddly. They do serve a useful purpose though by keeping the insect and rodent population down. I’m sort of one of those that doesn’t care for snakes too much. They are sort of like that medicine that you hate to take even though you know it makes you feel better. They have been associated with evil ever since the Garden of Eden. One wonders if our thoughts about them would be different if it had been a donkey that tempted Eve. We will never know. There are some 3,400 types of snakes across the world. Not all are dangerous but enough are that you need to avoid them unless you are a snake expert. And even they tend to make critical mistakes when they handle them. Respect the snake, give it’s place and will will 9 out of ten times give you yours.

February 20th Love Your Pet Day

February holidays, Unboxing the Bizarre

I love animals.  They commit to us humans without expectation, though they do hope a lot! If you are going to have a pet, you need to love it or don’t bother. They have feelings too, they need love just like any other animal including humans.

There are certain things you should probably not share with your pet. Like taking your fish for a walk (Unless you bring the tank with you) and I definitely suggest not taking your cat swimming.

Cats are special creatures. That’s probably enough said right there! We have ten cats, yes, I said ten. Each of them has their own personality and have to be treated accordingly. They are very loving though (When they aren’t ripping you apart).

I have to admit though, I am a dog person. Dogs are, to me, very special. We have only one dog but I absolutely adore her. They are great company, a little easier to predict than a cat, and always want to spend time with you. You can talk to them, it seems like they understand you, and they never repeat what you say.

And given the chance, animals will get along with each other. My cats adore my dog too. And she has a great deal of fun with them, chasing them and being chased by them. We also have fish but ours are not real cuddly.

How to celebrate – If you have a pet, love it. Get your pet a special treat today to remind them you care. Try and guess what your pet is thinking.
